Does Christmas Have Pagan Origins?

I was listening to the Albert Mohler program the other night. In the course of his broadcast he referenced an article by Gene Veith on the origins of Christmas. Veith in turn referred to an article by William J. Tighe entitled Calculating Christmas.

I have included the link to the article below: If what Tighe says is in fact true, those who advocate Christmas is strictly a pagan festival that gives superfical lipservice to Christianity something new to think about.
